ITS GRIM UP NORTH

Morecambe was my first rally some 25 years ago and i wasn't old enough to go by scoot nor did i own one at the time but had already taken a keen interest in them with some of my older friends zipping around on small frame 50's.

So 25 years on it was time i made the pilgrimage up north. After a lot of umming and arring over whether or not to take one of my scoots i opted out for the car and boy i am glad i did. Jeanette still unable to ride as her hand looks like mickey mouse  we headed out mid friday morning for a round trip up to Hertford to drop the dog off and then back across country and northward to eventually arrive at our hotel for about 1830.

In showered glad rags on and into town, we had arranged to meet in the Ranch on Morcambe front. Good to meet old friends as ever, Chris Brown, Damage, blitz and mrs Blitz, Jimmy the blade and Andy King, and Baz,

 sorry if i forgot anyone!!!!!

We got straight into the swing of things with plenty of beer and vodka going down the hatch, we stayed in the ranch until about 2130 headed off to the famous Carlton night club to the nighter and King Kurt..... great tunes being bangged out it was soon time for King Kurt to take stage and thrash out some classic Kurt tracks such as Harasio, destination zulu land and zulu beat to name a few, smeg was on good form and after seeing them at the shed this year i was pleased that they performed for more than 40 minutes this time,

Before we knew it it was time to head off for the night, body very full of beer and vodka, and loads of laughs, i was ready for my scratcher.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early and headed off up to cumbria to see my folks and daughter for a couple of hours but not before the cursory visit to the parts fair and a morning coffee with the blitz house hold.

Family things done we dropped of the car and headed back to the ranch, funny old thing to see the same old faces as the night before. So off we went again vodka and beer marathon, At this point Dai, Daniel, Craig & Kathleen, Ian and Lisa all arrived for a couple of hours of merriment, (good to see you all again). the entertainment for the afternoon was a band named the Visitors. got to say i was impressed with them and the set they played, very varied but some good tunes in there mainly by the Jam but good. ( I thought)

The day was now starting to become a bit hazy, and before we new it  we were in an Indian curry house rolling with laughter and joe public enjoying our squaddie banter  along with our waiter who was close to having his pants pulled down and his little indian ass spanked. lol

We again headed off to the Carlton for the nighter where we commandeered a corner of the do and just had a ball taking the piss out of each other until the bar had closed and we were asked to leave by the bouncers.

Ah well another one over with as the season closes to an end, Saturday night was quite a sombre affair, with this in mind but still we had a ball.

I look forward to seeing you all very soon although i know it won't be until next season now before most of us meet up again.
It has been a pleasure as always to have drank, laughed at and laughed with you all this season.

Ride safe and bring on next season.

Uggy and Jeanette.
